On the move

Today, I'm 14w2d. I'm feeling pretty good these days. The all-day sickness has continued to stay away, which I'm grateful for. (Ended around 12 weeks this time.)

I was feeling a little bloated in the belly and sort of "not right" so I decided to use the doppler around 6:15pm. It took me over ten minutes to find the heartbeat. Surprisingly, I didn't freak out, though I did run through scenarios in my mind of calling the doctor tomorrow morning to see if I could move my next u/s up. I told myself that I have a little extra belly fat growing now that I'm finally not nauseous all the time. I also told myself that I would try again with a full bladder, since I had just emptied my bladder. The crazy thing is, I felt almost resigned to the fact that maybe this was the end. I have told two more people in the last week, and every time I tell someone I feel like I'm tempting fate.

In the end, it turned out that the little person MOVED. All along, it's been below and to the right of my belly button, and now, it's just a little below and to the left of my belly button. I don't know if that's good or bad with regard to my placenta placement, but it was certainly a relief to hear those little hooves galloping away.

So happy you found the heartbeat and felt the little one move ;)

A tidbit I mentioned before.. After a c-section with my son, my placenta was low this pregnancy at my 12 week u/s and moved up into a perfect spot at my 19 wk u/s. I bet yours will be great at the next u/s!!

I'm so glad you found it again and everything is alright. Hopefully, you'll soon be able to feel him kicking and have regular reassurance that everything is alright.

I had the same experience around 13weeks. The baby had moved from lower right to lower left but I was lucky enough to find the HB after 10 minutes or so. Happy the all day sickness is gone and things are going well.

My baby moved like that just after I was able to start feeling flutters. I went to an appointment and the heartbeat was in a totally different place. Who knew they could move so far in there?
I'm happy you found your little heartbeat :)

That bloated feeling when pregnant is pretty odd feeling. I'm so glad that you were able to find the baby's heartbeat. I think it's awesome that you have your own doppler.

so glad that all is well!! it is amazing how much the little buggers move around throughout the pregnancy....as they get bigger they make fewer dramatic moves....but the latest for me is that now at 35 weeks....it is back below the belly button, not at or above, I do think she has dropped LOL. I can't wait for you to post that you are feeling the baby!

Yay for the galloping hooves! I've also had a hard time finding my baby's heartbeat this weekend. Mostly because as soon as I find the heart beat, the baby moves!

My doctor told me that if you're feeling bloaty, (excess gas) that sometimes that will affect what you hear with the doppler and see on an ultrasound. So, if you were feeling a bit bloaty, that could affect what you are hearing.

I remember those moments with Sky, poking and prodding and drinking a lot of orange juice, feeling terrified, and then the little bug would finally wake up and dance around. I'm glad yours did too and stopped giving you a scare.
